Description
Rybelsus is a medication indicated for the treatment of adults (18 years or older) with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is designed to improve blood glucose control when used in combination with diet and exercise. Rybelsus is an oral pill that mimics the action of a natural hormone called GLP-1, which is released in the body after eating. It helps lower blood sugar levels and supports weight reduction. The product is available in three doses: 3 mg, 7 mg, and 14 mg, each with 30 tablets in green, red, and blue packs, respectively.
How to Use:
Rybelsus should be taken once daily on an empty stomach, ideally upon waking up in the morning. The tablet should be swallowed whole with a sip of water (up to half a glass). Avoid splitting, crushing, or chewing the tablets, as it may affect the absorption of the medication. Wait at least 30 minutes before eating, drinking, or taking other oral medications after consuming Rybelsus. If a dose is missed, skip it and take the next dose the following day.
Caution & Warnings:
Rybelsus is not suitable for use in Type-1 diabetes patients. It should not be used during pregnancy, and if pregnancy occurs, the medication should be discontinued at least 2 months before planning pregnancy due to its long half-life. Breastfeeding mothers should avoid using Rybelsus. Patients with a history of pancreatitis should inform their doctor before starting the medication.
